Brandon's L.A. Book Signing
So, here it was exactly 3 months to the day since I had met Brandon at the Wiltern, and I
was more than ready for some more excitement! I went to the gallery at opening time to purchase my own personal copy that he would sign. The gallery was real large in comparison to where he will have his art showing. After buying the book, i had plans to meet up with my son and did so. Thats when i 1st opened my new book and started reading "Foward Speak". I loved it and could so relate, like with most of all his writings. I also loved his variety of drawings.
I arrived for the signing around 5:30 p.m. It was to start at 8:00. This time the line was longer, and i'd say there were probable close to 100 people to be ahead of me. I met the
fans that were around me and even saw the girls i'd met from one of the Wiltern concerts.
I learned alot more about Brandon from people and shared my own experience. Time moved pretty well, and then one of the employees came out to tell us how this was going to
go, and everyone needed to have their book opened to the page they wanted Brandon to sign. After alot of indecision and asking others, i chose the double yellow-paged drawing of a female looking down at a baby with the phrase "All of us are heaven sent". Well, it eventually came around my turn, and I entered the room and as I approached Brandon, I said to him: "Hi Brandon, how are you". He stood from his chair, and replied with a smile
that he was "doing fine". Then i turned around and raised the back of my shirt to reveal to him my Incubus tattoo. I had planned if i had met him at the Wiltern to show him then, but with all the excitement, i totally forgot. It was an Incubus tatt I had gotten in Arkansas and
had designed myself. Brandon was standing there wondering what is this chick doing? But
when he saw it his eyes got a little bigger and he had a big smile and said "WHOA". The main employee working with BB also was excited and said "WOW", this caught Brandon
by surprise this time and i put my stuff on the table and sat down by him. This time i had rehearsed well what i would say so that maybe i could be a bit more composed. I told him
I had already looked at the book and loved it and then talked about having tickets to see INCUBUS in July at the Greek Theatre in L.A. He kept his eyes on me and then unrehearsed, I said: "I met you at the Wiltern". He replied: " I remember", and my smile got bigger and I said "Great"! They then instructed us to pose for the photo, and one of the
girls i'd just met took 3 pics of us! Brandon smiled as he signed my book with "CHEERS!", and i begin to exit. Just after i exited the room, I realized I hadn't given him the gift i'd brought for the occassion. I had brought the present in a carry-on bag so it wouldn't get dirty and in the way. I grabbed the present and went back in the door i came out and he was already with the next fan. I tried to go unnoticed, and told the employee i
would just leave it near where BB was. He says, this lady would like to give you a present,
and to not take away from the other fan I just set it down and i pointed to the present and he looked at me then the present and flashed a great smile and said "thank you". I told him "see you later" and he replied the same. I felt alot better and a good bit more relaxed than i'd been at the Wiltern and i just keep thinking over and over about showing him my
tatt and when he said he remembered me from the Wiltern. I treasure my 2 autographs, my pics, and again the great moments of fortune, More to come....................................

More to come?
Freesoarer, you a one of the luckiest fans I know! Congrats to you!!!
Yes, like Squirrelbrane said, you need to show us pics of your tat, and your pics with Brandon!
Another fun tidbit: did you know Brandon's mom was at that book signing? If you look back at the pics or think about it, she was behind him in some of the other fan pics I've seen. She was wearing white with a pink top and she had her hair like always, black with the grey streaks coming down around her face, so I knew it was her. I saw some of these pics on flicker.com; it comes up when you type in brandon boyds book white fluffy clouds on googleimages. Just thought I'd share that with you and see if you weren't too excited to notice her! lol
Hurry up and share more!!!!!! thanks, Naz

excited
I was so excited and happy for you as I read your encounter.
I felt like I was there watching it unfold. And now I need to know what
your tattoo looks like.
Is it big? He said WOW.
Is it a pic or letters
and did you give him more of your writings
as a present or what was it ?
Freesoarer
I can't wait to read what you'll do at the Art show
and maybe you could slip him a note about enjoyincubus.com
and it would be nice if they would come in and comment here and there
I haven't bought any of his books. I may now =)

Family Affair...
Hey Freesoarer!!! Your interactions with Mr. Brandon just keep getting better and better, really.
Anyway, you know what is so funny? He probably sees you more than some of his closest relatives and that is a good thing, of course. It seems like he now recognizes you and he has to remember you as the present girl with all the thoughtful gifts that you have given him. You have also made some impression on him with your tattoo for him to respond the way that he did; yet another thing that is so memorable about you...I so admire you for your successful efforts in meeting your truly inspirational mentor!
