It's incredibly difficult. The concert isn't going to be for a few more months but in the meantime I'll see if I can record a couple clips from our practice sessions.
I want to hear you guys play New Skin! Awesome setlist! It must be hard to narrow down songs. Can't wait until we can hear you guys!

Kellen: wow, amazing set list! Wish I could be there to see you play! It'll be quite a night!

I lean against the wind, pretend that I am weightless, and in this moment I am happy...
I wish I could be there too! 30 song set list... That's insanely awesome! We must book your band for Incu Fest!

Yeah, I'm totally pumped about it. And Tech: We're doing it in one show. We'll likely drop a few songs from the list but we're not worried about stamina at all. We've played a lot of shows. Our singer is really good and Incubus is his favorite band (naturally) so he can sing them for hours on end. It amazes me that he can scream so loud in New Skin and Circles and then turn around and sing Love Hurts, Just a Phase, etc...
Wow....impressive set list and filled with many of my favorites. Now I REALLY wish I could go!!! lol
And Technicolor: Yeah, Kellen and his band are playing a one night Incubus cover show.

I just kinda started reading about your covers, so I apologize if this has been covered. But are you playing all those songs in one sitting? Is the singer worried about stamina????

I wish! We keep thinking that it's finalized but then somebody wants to do something else or someone starts playing a song that isn't in the set but we jam-out to it anyway and it sounds really good so we're kind of obligated to play it... They have SO many good songs that it's overwhelming to attempt a task such as this. The closest things to a set list we have are these songs>
***S.C.I.E.N.C.E.***
Redefine
New Skin
A Certain Shade of Green
Summer Romance (Anti-Gravity)
***Make Yourself***
Privilege
Nowhere Fast
The Warmth
Stellar
Drive
I Miss You
Pardon Me
***Morning View***
Nice To Know You
Circles
Wish You Where Here
Just A Phase
11 Am
Blood On The Ground
Mexico
Warning
Are You In?
***A Crow Left of the Murder***
Talk Shows On Mute
Sick Sad Little World
Here In My Room
***Light Grenades***
Quicksand
A Kiss To Send Us Off
Dig (acoustic)
Anna Molly
Love Hurts
***Monuments & Melodies/other***
Pantomime (red rocks version)
Punch Drunk
That's what we're working with at the moment. I really wanted to do Make Yourself and Megalomaniac but you can't win every battle. Besides, do you know how hard playing a 30 song set is?!? Yeesh! Thanks for asking though!
Hey Kellen, have you guys finalized your set list? I'm curious.....

when I drive myself my light is found.....
I see. The biggest difference between the two is that you have little pads that are used to cover the holes and some flutes are played directly in front of you.
i'm guessing the regular type? but it's not that hard to switch between different types, just really have to change your ambresure to switch between different instruments.

Hahaha! Our convo has gone fill circle.

when I drive myself my light is found.....
The regular plateaued type? Or a shakuhachi? That's sweet either way. You could do that and also that Kick-A interlude solo on Circles. Ha, my first post on here was about that flute part...
yup, can't carry a note voice-wise..but i am really good at playing the flute. maybe bust out some aqueous transmission?

Well if you guys are cool with not singing well then you'll be blown away by our band because we DO sound good! I'm proud of you guys for not being ashamed and singing anyway.

LOL! I'll happily join in as long as I'm not the only one causing people to flee with hands over their ears.

My warbling has been known to kill plants and small animals however, I love to sing along and I'll just have to hope for fake plants and no small animals at Incu-fest - I'll join in!

'cuz wihout love I won't survive
Christine me too! Probably faster than you can. Haha. I would gladly butcher an Incubus song with my voice at Incu Fest though!

A very unique collaboration. That sounds like a lot of fun.
If, for some odd reason, Kellen and his band can't perform for us.
Lol.
There are many fans here that are incredibly talented. They could form an EI super group at Incu Fest and have an Incubus cover jam session! I'm sure we can all lend our vocals.

Wow...Kellen. That's awesome...I could only imagine what it feels like to channel their sound with your own hands! And I'm with Leah.... so excited to see the video footage of your show!

Jack: Agreed!
Kellen: I love that you have the djembe ready to go for New Skin and the didjeridoo for Redefine. Would love to hear your band perform those songs live! Your band has to perform at Incu Fest! I can't wait to see the video footage from your upcoming show!

I play the guitar. At the moment I'm pursuing a double major in Guitar Performance and Guitar Education at Utah State University. I LOVE playing Incubus music. The difficulty level varies with each song. It's a really awesome experience to have their music channeling through you instead of just listening to it. It feels kind of like when I went and saw them live this past summer. (FRONT ROW, RIGHT IN FRONT OF MIKE.) We just practiced this morning and for the first time we had our DJ with us. We've got a didjeridoo for the intro to Redefine, a djembe for New Skin and passion for the music in general. I've played in front of 500-600 people before and caught little tastes of what Incubus must feel on stage. It's all about the crowd! We're not making any money off this show coming up, we just want to spread some beautiful music around to others who love the band or maybe haven't heard much of them before.
Awww....you're welcome, Kellen!
btw....what instrument do you play? And how do you find playing Incubus' music? Difficult, easy, how does it feel?

Thank you! I'm totally honored by your support.
YAY! Can't wait to watch it either!!!

I'll do my best to convince the guys in my band to show up but they're super busy with school and probably won't be able to make it. Having said that, it's a year away so I've got a bit of time to work with. I could definitely play some solo stuff at least. And yes, we'll be recording it so that everybody who can't make it out to Utah for one night to see it can watch it online.
Agreed! Kellen please tape your Incu-Cover concert and share it wish us! And... you and your band MUST attend Incu Fest. MUST!

OMG Jackie! I didn't even think of that!
YES...... Kellen, come, bring your band and grace us with our favorite Incubus songs!
But if that's not possible
....I hope you're going to tape your show so that you can post it here or on youtube or something......

Kellen, if we have Incu-fest, your band has to be there! That would be so cool!

Thanks! It's been a long time in the making. We'll need more than luck as well. Our drummer severely broke his finger and needed surgery. So the show won't be until February. But everybody in the band is a pro-level musician and we just want to have fun and pay tribute to the greatest band ever, Incubus! We even have a freestyle DJ! I don't know where to start designing lighting or anything like that though. But to tie this back to the thread... I'm totally making our singer tape-up his microphone just like Brandon's!
