its hard to pick just one favorite album! I love them all!
but I can't believe that fungus amongus is everyones least favorite! its got a lot of funk and rock mixed in which makes Incubus so original and AMAZING their style is unlike any other bands and for that I thank them for not making the same boring music that every other rock band out there makes. I wouldn't be able to make a list of my favorite to least favorite albums like so many before me have. Each one has something different and shouldn't be compared to one another.
I think that a crow left of the murder is one of their greatest. When it came out alot of people frowned upon it, It was recorded quickly and amazingly. When they came to Cleveland to perform it totally kicked ASS! All are good Morning view would be next inline, Alive at redrocks was awesome too. Huge inspiration.

I must admit that every Incubus album is different, so each album has its own magic. But i also admit that S.C.I.E.N.C.E is my favourite one because it is a great mixture or rock, funk, pop, you know, i can't say it is thir best album, but it's the one I enjoy more.
I have to say that i like all their albums , but i miss that agressive face of the S.C.I.E.N.C.E stuff
New incubus has a much more proper and grown up picture,than the early one...if u look at the videos,or even at the album covers,u can see,that they were influenced a lot by the so called "hy-tech" past,but now,they are makin a muuuch bigger progress...

Considering every album is so different I don’t think this poll could possibly suffice as accurate but it more-so caters to asking what someone’s taste in music is (generally speaking). Luckily for me I like variety, but this was really hard but as an end result I went with the album that brought back the most nostalgia and the one that had the most songs that I like to skip straight to; which with that said I went with “Make Yourself”. I lived at my grandparents for a short while when my parents house was being built and I was constantly listening to this album and shared a couple of songs with my grandma because she was curious; I recently lost her to congestive heart failure so it just reminds me of lived in times. “Morning View” was a hard second and this is all being said with my not hearing the whole “Light Grenades” album yet (I’ll save myself by saying I just bought it) but I’m absolutely in love with “Dig”. I could listen to “Dig” alone on repeat for hours because it speaks a lot to me in the fact that I think people in this world need to be much more forgiving and compassionate. I have a very forgiving spirit about me having dealt with way too much in my life that I won’t divulge into here…
On a much lighter note I use to listen to “Aqueous Transmissions” on repeat while I slept a lot the year it came out. I had a lot of “Morning View” songs trapped in my head and I use to swim on my high school swim team and while I’d do laps various songs were singing in my head (along with some random Depeche Mode and Skinny Puppy – hey, I like variety). But “Morning View” was perfect for that phase of my life. Every album that has come out including “.S.C.I.E.N.C.E” was perfect for that phase and time in my life. I feel like how I grow (both as an individual and a musician myself) has followed the same trend as all of these albums. You can really hear a growth in maturity in them. I related with every one at that point in time when it came out and these are one of the few albums that I pull out time and time again. Sometimes I buy a CD and love it for the first year or two and it never really gets re-played; SO not the case with these.
On a side note that is completely off topic in case anyone “special” should gloss over these; if ever in need of a piano/bass/cello/violin player they should call me because I’m a bunch of talent wrapped up in a pretty package(great way to sound humble, no?).

Could "A Crow Left of the Murder" be considered Incubus' best record? To some, absolutely not. To me, possibly. As I browse through other user's commentaries, I have noticed quite a few of "I like them all." This is not a problem for me because I too enjoy every Incubus record, but I am noticing a developing trend. Does Incubus not stand for individuality and originality, and thinking for one's self? Not to say that some are not thinking for themselves, but people must have some preference over something or another.
I believe that "A Crow Left of the Murder" turned Incubus' music in a totally different direction. But then again, each record sounds progressively different to me. It is apparent to me that the idea behind composing said records to sound somewhat different than before is to keep the music sounding fresh and new, and to keep us all coming back. I think that many of you will agree. If Incubus were to "go back to the Incubus that you once were" to quote another user, then the music would become boring and predictable, which, correct me if I'm wrong, is what the succussful musician would stay away from. Please do not misunderstand me here, I do very much respect everyone's opinions.
So, could "A Crow Left of the Murder" be considered Incubus' best record? After careful deliberation, I tend to lean toward 'yes.' This record took the music to a different political view that I can very much relate to. However, each of us interprets this music differently, and I am interested to see what you have to say.
I've seen them live 2 out of their 2 concerts here in Manila and I just couldn't get enough. It's just sickening that almost ALL local bands here in my country copy their style, Brandon's way of clothing, how he holds the mic, his voice. Bunch of no talent wannabes. makes me puke on the t.v! After your 2yr break guys, please please come back to manila I'm begging you.
Ladies and horse men's MAKE YOURSELF it's the most perfect album in the history of INCUBUS for example Privilege, Nowhere Fast, Consequence, The Warmth, When It Comes, Stellar, Make Yourself, Drive, Clean, I Miss You and Pardon Me; But my favorite song is DIG and all the Discography is Excellent.

the dvd "look alive" is amazing as the albums themselves!!!!!! i saw them perform the song "punch drunk" on their last tour and it has become one of my favorite incubus songs. i really wish they would have put it on the light grenades album!!!!

Most of the time I listen to Incubus when driving to work. It is a kind of regular change between the last four albums. "Morning View" is great, "A crow left of the murder" is great, "Light Grenades" is great... cannot decide a number one. However, right now it is the "Look alive" song that is driving me mad. It is a fine song early in the morning. There is no chance to have a bad start of the day
It's hard to actually pick a favorite, because I'm sure a lot of people will agree with me that every album is great. I just lisen to all the songs on my iTunes so I never see what album it is. Incubus is my favorite band. WOOT!!!!
they´re all great and unique ... personally i think taht the older incubus was more acid and strong.. but the new incubus which is also great combines perfectly the melody with the guitars and the battery... they have evolved a lot but they´re still making great music as always.. it´s really difficult to choose an album but i pick morning view, because it´s the album of the consagration of incubus as one of the most important bands, and hoping they are going to make some great music for many years....yeeeaah
I have a hard time selecting my favorite Incubus album. They are all so unique and have thier own distinct personalities. My personality seem to fit better with Morning View. I remember many a hazy high school party nights listening to that cd and thinking that all was right with the world. Aqueous transmission sticks out as such a phenomenal way to end that album it gives me chills every time. SCIENCE is one that I always come back to and think, "Wow that is amazing from start to finish!" Incubus has touched my life in a very positive way and I think that my generation has needed them as true musicians to provide us with quality emotion filled music instead of all the fabricated crap that is on the fm waves of today. I have had the pleasure of seeing them live 4 times and all 4 they were awesome from what I remember. Thanks Incubus for inspiring my life in a positive way and I can't wait to hear and see what you have in store for all your fans next.
I love that CD because it's the first I listened to. that album is what made me fall in love with Incubus and the other CDs is what kept me in love with you guys.

I have been listening to incubus since they were a twinkle in their parents eye or at least since Fungus Amungus. I am 25 and I have to say that S.C.I.E.N.C.E. changed the way I play and think about music. Fungus amungus and science are easily two of the best CDs ever. I am waiting for Part 2 of either of those albums. No more soft crap, get funky and do more dr@gs damn it...........AND GET DIRK BACK.
To say Light Grenades or A Crow Left of Murder are Incubus's best CDs is like saying St.Anger was Metallica's best CD.

I am a newer fan, but truer fan than I have ever been to any other band when it comes to Incubus. The first time I listened to S.C.I.E.N.C.E. was such a mind-exploding experience. I felt like something deep inside me had been awakened. Listening to Incubus music is an experience I treasure to this day. Every album, every song....I can't get enough. The only exception would be their latest 'Light Grenades'. On every other album I hear Incubus, different forms, but Incubus none-the-less. I don't know what, but something was missing in Light Grenades that left it two inches shy of being as awesome as the previous sessions, but I love them regardless. I thank them, for they are a rarity that I feel blessed to have come across in my lifetime. I know many consider Morning View to be their best effort because it has some of their best songs on it. However, after taking serious ponder over the years, I still lean back to my first love. From start to end, it captivated. It turned me on to them, and created the biggest music-gasm of all. But of course, all of their albums are awesome. Making choosing a 'favorite' extremely difficult. Everyday is an Incubus day. No better time than the present to Enjoy Incubus.

much like, i suppose, how most of us (fans) reacted, since i'm the type of incubus enthusiast (that sounds weird, but we all know i'm referring to the band : ) ) who has perhaps coordinated mood swings with the band albums, there is no one favorite album for all of certainty and logical impossibilities to deny..
surely its obvious how each album has its own glorious character, and the pull, perhaps appeal of incubus comes with those particlar moments in the past you're taken to while digesting incubus music (however disguistingly depressing, sweet, adorable cute, traumatic and constipating those experiences were, we still love how we're reminded that our room's area does not inhibit our spirits)...
so i guess put more simply, since i think i've been already rather formal with this motha-effin comment, incubus albums withstand this notion, theory of time that we have...
i'm 18, and honestly, i have only recently revived being an incubus band enthusiast (after seeing them live in manila)... the first song i had honestly associated with them was 'wish you were here' from morning view, which in my opinion, is an album already from a period in their "band-life" when girlies and teenage wannabe mommas have plastered their walls full of pictures of faces, limbs, floating torsos and other such body parts of the band members...but point is, incubus music is relative to the listener, and i guess the band's own emotions and memories and subconscious blurt-outs have all been preserved in their albums, as if they were flies caught in mid-air by a drop of sap, later to be found as amber...
whatever they felt while making their music a few years ago, have hopefully resounded in all of us fans, adapting a new amplitude or wavelength as "time" passed...

So, best album. Ahh, I seriously don't know.
Each album is different, but that's what makes the band so great, isn't it? All the albums are great in their own way and I have to say I don't know many bands that are as diverse as Incubus. The difference between Fungus and Light Grenades is huge, but to be honest, I wouldn't listen to them anymore if all their albums were the same.
If I had to choose one, I'd choose science, as it was the first album I heard ( I was 14) and the one I know best (now I'm 24 and half dead). But I can't say science is any better than the rest, I depends 100 % on the mood. Today I might love Light Grenades, tomorrow Fungus. The fact that all the albums are different, gives me the chance to choose the right music for the right mood.
We all know, without mentioning names, that there are bands out there that have plenty of albums that all sound the same. Why, I don't know. It might be because they try to keep their fans... or then they just can't do better.
I come to think of bars and nightclubs (wonder why). They say that a club lasts for 2 years. That means that every 2 years you have to come up with something new, usually they renovate the whole place and it's a totally different place after the reopening. It's a risk they have to take as they don't want the place to dry out. So by renewing to place they keep it alive and interesting, both for the guests and for themselves.
I don't think the Incubus-guys make the albums different to get new fans, they do it to keep it interesting for themselves. After all, they make the music because _they_ enjoy it and it's what _they_ love, not because the fans want to. Correct me if I'm wrong, but I'd say that the fact that they love what they do and do what they love makes the music real. And that's what makes it good.
I will be the first person to tell you constructive criticism is one of the many keys to learning from mistakes. I love Incubus's music in every natural rhythm that can be absorbed through the human body, which makes me a loyal fan ,not a critic. So having that cleared out of the way, I have had something on my chest every since dirk left, that i need to vent. I know I speak on behalf of many fans from all regions of the world by saying that we want, and need, Incubus to come back to the auora that has dwelled deep within the souls of the true hardcore fans, The music that has enriched our lives, and the vicarious nature of the lyrics and music that inhabits us everytime we listen to the name we adore, "Incubus." It seems as if the band wants to make all of their fans happy, but at the same time try to maintain the mainstream appeal that incubus has fallen into. This is a cry out to the band. Please relinquish your thrones as the band that we all loved back in the Science, Make yourself, and Morninig View days. Those teenage girls have plenty of bands that they can plaster on their lockers, but you have the many fans who will remain loyal no matter what. Remember that in your decision making process.

As I browse through other user's commentaries, I have noticed quite a few of "I like them all." This is not a problem for me because I too enjoy every Incubus record, but I am noticing a developing trend. Does Incubus not stand for individuality and originality, and thinking for one's self? Not to say that some are not thinking for themselves, but people must have some preference over something or another.
I believe that "A Crow Left of the Murder" turned Incubus' music in a totally different direction. But then again, each record sounds progressively different to me. It is apparent to me that the idea behind composing said records to sound somewhat different than before is to keep the music sounding fresh and new, and to keep us all coming back. I think that many of you will agree. If Incubus were to "go back to the Incubus that you once were" to quote another user, then the music would become boring and predictable, which, correct me if I'm wrong, is what the succussful musician would stay away from. Please do not misunderstand me here, I do very much respect everyone's opinions.
So, could "A Crow Left of the Murder" be considered Incubus' best record? After careful deliberation, I tend to lean toward 'yes.' This record took the music to a different political view that I can very much relate to. However, each of us interprets this music differently, and I am interested to see what you have to say.

I've seen them live 2 out of their 2 concerts here in Manila and I just couldn't get enough. It's just sickening that almost ALL local bands here in my country copy their style, Brandon's way of clothing, how he holds the mic, his voice. Bunch of no talent wannabes. makes me puke on the t.v! After your 2yr break guys, please please come back to manila I'm begging you.

Ladies and horse men's MAKE YOURSELF it's the most perfect album in the history of INCUBUS for example Privilege, Nowhere Fast, Consequence, The Warmth, When It Comes, Stellar, Make Yourself, Drive, Clean, I Miss You and Pardon Me; But my favorite song is DIG and all the Discography is Excellent.

i study and teach spiritual philosophy, of course the ultimate goal is enlightenment, buddhahood, christhood, whatever you wanna call it. ever since i started listening to incubus, just before the release of make yourself, incubus has always been full of wisdom and a wonderful guide on the path to truth, as if they were writing the soundtrack to my every step.

the dvd "look alive" is amazing as the albums themselves!!!!!! i saw them perform the song "punch drunk" on their last tour and it has become one of my favorite incubus songs. i really wish they would have put it on the light grenades album!!!!

Not really sure
Most of the time I listen to Incubus when driving to work. It is a kind of regular change between the last four albums. "Morning View" is great, "A crow left of the murder" is great, "Light Grenades" is great... cannot decide a number one. However, right now it is the "Look alive" song that is driving me mad. It is a fine song early in the morning. There is no chance to have a bad start of the day

It's hard to actually pick a favorite, because I'm sure a lot of people will agree with me that every album is great. I just lisen to all the songs on my iTunes so I never see what album it is. Incubus is my favorite band. WOOT!!!!

they´re all great and unique ... personally i think taht the older incubus was more acid and strong.. but the new incubus which is also great combines perfectly the melody with the guitars and the battery... they have evolved a lot but they´re still making great music as always.. it´s really difficult to choose an album but i pick morning view, because it´s the album of the consagration of incubus as one of the most important bands, and hoping they are going to make some great music for many years....yeeeaah

I have a hard time selecting my favorite Incubus album. They are all so unique and have thier own distinct personalities. My personality seem to fit better with Morning View. I remember many a hazy high school party nights listening to that cd and thinking that all was right with the world. Aqueous transmission sticks out as such a phenomenal way to end that album it gives me chills every time. SCIENCE is one that I always come back to and think, "Wow that is amazing from start to finish!" Incubus has touched my life in a very positive way and I think that my generation has needed them as true musicians to provide us with quality emotion filled music instead of all the fabricated crap that is on the fm waves of today. I have had the pleasure of seeing them live 4 times and all 4 they were awesome from what I remember. Thanks Incubus for inspiring my life in a positive way and I can't wait to hear and see what you have in store for all your fans next.

I have been listening to incubus since they were a twinkle in their parents eye or at least since Fungus Amungus. I am 25 and I have to say that S.C.I.E.N.C.E. changed the way I play and think about music. Fungus amungus and science are easily two of the best CDs ever. I am waiting for Part 2 of either of those albums. No more soft crap, get funky and do more dr@gs damn it...........AND GET DIRK BACK.
To say Light Grenades or A Crow Left of Murder are Incubus's best CDs is like saying St.Anger was Metallica's best CD.

INCUBUS.....no other can compare
I am a newer fan, but truer fan than I have ever been to any other band when it comes to Incubus. The first time I listened to S.C.I.E.N.C.E. was such a mind-exploding experience. I felt like something deep inside me had been awakened. Listening to Incubus music is an experience I treasure to this day. Every album, every song....I can't get enough. The only exception would be their latest 'Light Grenades'. On every other album I hear Incubus, different forms, but Incubus none-the-less. I don't know what, but something was missing in Light Grenades that left it two inches shy of being as awesome as the previous sessions, but I love them regardless. I thank them, for they are a rarity that I feel blessed to have come across in my lifetime. I know many consider Morning View to be their best effort because it has some of their best songs on it. However, after taking serious ponder over the years, I still lean back to my first love. From start to end, it captivated. It turned me on to them, and created the biggest music-gasm of all. But of course, all of their albums are awesome. Making choosing a 'favorite' extremely difficult. Everyday is an Incubus day. No better time than the present to Enjoy Incubus.

withstanding the theory of time...
much like, i suppose, how most of us (fans) reacted, since i'm the type of incubus enthusiast (that sounds weird, but we all know i'm referring to the band : ) ) who has perhaps coordinated mood swings with the band albums, there is no one favorite album for all of certainty and logical impossibilities to deny..
surely its obvious how each album has its own glorious character, and the pull, perhaps appeal of incubus comes with those particlar moments in the past you're taken to while digesting incubus music (however disguistingly depressing, sweet, adorable cute, traumatic and constipating those experiences were, we still love how we're reminded that our room's area does not inhibit our spirits)...
so i guess put more simply, since i think i've been already rather formal with this motha-effin comment, incubus albums withstand this notion, theory of time that we have...
i'm 18, and honestly, i have only recently revived being an incubus band enthusiast (after seeing them live in manila)... the first song i had honestly associated with them was 'wish you were here' from morning view, which in my opinion, is an album already from a period in their "band-life" when girlies and teenage wannabe mommas have plastered their walls full of pictures of faces, limbs, floating torsos and other such body parts of the band members...but point is, incubus music is relative to the listener, and i guess the band's own emotions and memories and subconscious blurt-outs have all been preserved in their albums, as if they were flies caught in mid-air by a drop of sap, later to be found as amber...
whatever they felt while making their music a few years ago, have hopefully resounded in all of us fans, adapting a new amplitude or wavelength as "time" passed...
so anyway..yeah..
we love incubus. : )

First of all, sorry if my English sucks, I just don't think it's a good idea to write in my mother tongue, unless you know Finnish
So, best album. Ahh, I seriously don't know.
Each album is different, but that's what makes the band so great, isn't it? All the albums are great in their own way and I have to say I don't know many bands that are as diverse as Incubus. The difference between Fungus and Light Grenades is huge, but to be honest, I wouldn't listen to them anymore if all their albums were the same.
If I had to choose one, I'd choose science, as it was the first album I heard ( I was 14) and the one I know best (now I'm 24 and half dead). But I can't say science is any better than the rest, I depends 100 % on the mood. Today I might love Light Grenades, tomorrow Fungus. The fact that all the albums are different, gives me the chance to choose the right music for the right mood.
We all know, without mentioning names, that there are bands out there that have plenty of albums that all sound the same. Why, I don't know. It might be because they try to keep their fans... or then they just can't do better.
I come to think of bars and nightclubs (wonder why). They say that a club lasts for 2 years. That means that every 2 years you have to come up with something new, usually they renovate the whole place and it's a totally different place after the reopening. It's a risk they have to take as they don't want the place to dry out. So by renewing to place they keep it alive and interesting, both for the guests and for themselves.
I don't think the Incubus-guys make the albums different to get new fans, they do it to keep it interesting for themselves. After all, they make the music because _they_ enjoy it and it's what _they_ love, not because the fans want to. Correct me if I'm wrong, but I'd say that the fact that they love what they do and do what they love makes the music real. And that's what makes it good.
And shiit, Brandons voice gives me the willies.
Stepping up the demand
I will be the first person to tell you constructive criticism is one of the many keys to learning from mistakes. I love Incubus's music in every natural rhythm that can be absorbed through the human body, which makes me a loyal fan ,not a critic. So having that cleared out of the way, I have had something on my chest every since dirk left, that i need to vent. I know I speak on behalf of many fans from all regions of the world by saying that we want, and need, Incubus to come back to the auora that has dwelled deep within the souls of the true hardcore fans, The music that has enriched our lives, and the vicarious nature of the lyrics and music that inhabits us everytime we listen to the name we adore, "Incubus." It seems as if the band wants to make all of their fans happy, but at the same time try to maintain the mainstream appeal that incubus has fallen into. This is a cry out to the band. Please relinquish your thrones as the band that we all loved back in the Science, Make yourself, and Morninig View days. Those teenage girls have plenty of bands that they can plaster on their lockers, but you have the many fans who will remain loyal no matter what. Remember that in your decision making process.
