INCUFEST LOCATION VOTE!
Okay, so i think its time we all made this official.
INCUFEST: To be held on the 11th of November of 2011
MEET TIME BETWEEN: 9:30am till 10:45am (find your way around and settle in!)
OFFICIAL EVENT START TIME: 11am
As we have all agreed, the tricky part about this is the location- I think it'd be a fair way to decide if we all vote on this. A new post has been created in this forum for everyone to make official votes. To assess the votes quickly and fairly- can i ask everyone to post ONLY ONCE.
For inspiration on voting and understanding the importance of this, please watch the following:

Thankyou!

If there's no concerts on November 11th.. and we have the IncuFest in NY..
SOMEONE IS BUYING ME A PLANE TICKET. >D

I agree! It is a year away so we should definitely be flexible in case we can combine Incu-Fest with a tour and an M&G. However if we can't......the original date of Nov. 11 should be kept...either way doing the research and staking out venues and details before hand is the best way to proceed until we know for sure.

Couldn't agree more. Right now we are just laying it all out there, brainstorming, and generating a ton of excitement! We won't know exactly how everything will pan out just yet. Nonetheless, I'm hopeful and anxious for this upcoming Incu Fest!

That's a great idea, Den. We need to keep all our options open at this point.

I lean against the wind, pretend that I am weightless, and in this moment I am happy...
If for some reason there isn't a tour for next year, can we go back to our original New York Incu-feast plan? With a MYF money raiser thrown in?

Here's one thing..
For the next Incufest thingy or whatever..
Who plans on buying me plane tix?
'Cause I'm too young to buy them.
--

The bidding for the M&G tix sounds very do-able. I like that idea.
Here's another one, for all of us who would be at the party (and hopefully, a concert and M&G too!):
A memories/impressions book, that all of us would contribute to and that we would give the band. It could have photos of all of us, stuff we've written about our feelings about the music or our memories of concerts or whatever association we have with them or their music, and information about money we've raised for MYF. Perfect thing to present them with at our own private M&G! And Jackie and/or Chydie could design the cover.
I am so hoping that we can work it out so that our party coincides with a concert date. To share both would be AMAZING.

But when Incubus comes back to Dallas, will y'all at least be there, too? D|
(and try to find a way to sneak me in. lol)
--

If we do the M&G we could bid on...and win...as many tickets as we can, and then split the cost evenly.
RC was great for the concert...I'd love for it to be there again.

the only problem with me and maybe some other people is having to pay in advance. i'm not quite sure what's going to be going on next november, so i wouldn't be able to pay in advance until mid-way next year.

How's about this..
When Incubus comes back to Dallas, I expect to see y'all there, too. x3

Nope, the LG tour was when they played Jones Beach. That was their only NY venue. That's why I was thinking about it, b/c it's quite possible they could be there again.
Personally, I would hate to see them at the Garden. Too damn big. Radio City was perfect, nice and intimate. No matter where you sit at RC, you can see decently well. Same thing is true for Jones Beach. Only problem there is if it rains, because you're outside.
You know, if we do rearrange the date to coincide with a tour, I think it's a fairly safe bet that they would be back here in the NY area in August. That seems to be the pattern.
Love the idea of buying out a M&G. That would take some logistical maneuvering too, though!

OMG...party bus! I'm telling you we need to buy out a M&G...that would be amazing!! Did they play the Garden on the LG tour?

I bet the room wouldn't be a problem. I'm pretty sure we'd know if they've got an album coming out well in advance of a tour, so we could book the room and still have that 60 days to cancel if necessary. I think it would work out, no problem.
The trickier part would be trying to work out the logistics of going to the concert together: seating, transportation, etc., depending on where the concert is. If it's in Manhattan again, no problem. But if they play Jones Beach like they did a couple of years ago, that would be a little more difficult. We'd have to hire a bus! LOL
(s***, can you imagine, our own Incubus tour bus rolling up to the venue! Now THAT would get us noticed in a serious way! We could even hire a party bus, bring the party with us. Now that's a thought!)

That would be amazing, but like Kels asked...what about the room? Do we wait it out and see if they go on tour? I'm in for a concert with all of you! That would be great! And they said that the room can be cancelled 60 days in advance.

wow i'm so happy that this is all coming together! do we have to book the room a certain amounts of months in advance?
--
"i will hold you close if you're afraid of heights"
I wouldn't mind changing the date if that was the case!!!
I bought 2 tickets for the concert over the summer, before I had anyone to go with. I didn't know anyone (that my overprotective brothers would let me go with) who was a fan and wanted to go. Out of pity, my brother went with me to the concert. He is not a fan. It was horrible going with someone who didn't know any of the songs or shared my love for them.
All that being said, going with all of you to an INCUBUS concert would be phenomenal! And partying before and after the concert with people who get me would be absolutely awesome!
Let's hope they actually do start touring again in the fall..... Fingers crossed!!!

That's a great idea Renee. I think going to a concert together would add so much more to the overall experience. Plus, for those of us with jobs/significant others, it sorta makes everything so much more legit (even for the younger kids as well). I'm liking this idea, a lot.

Okay. I have a thought I want to throw out there for general consideration. Den made the point that our party will probably not coincide with a NY concert date and she's right. So... what if it turns out that they ARE on tour around that time, give or take a little bit. I know there's great symbolic value to the November 11th date, but... would you guys consider the idea of being a little bit flexible on the date, if (or, hopefully, when) it turns out that they are on tour in the NY area a year from now? Because if we could actually go see them in concert AND party together (afterwards, say), that would be awesome!
And then, too, if we did a fundraising thing for MYF, maybe we could actually work out a M&G too. We'd have to let them know we'd raised a chunk of money. They'd have to meet us then, out of sheer gratitude, right? They could come party with us.
(Yeah yeah, I know, I am getting way ahead of myself...)

SEE?!
I COULD DO SOMETHING AWESOME LIKE THAT! >D

Leah...good info! I wonder if that group bought out a M&G or if the band met with them personally because of their donation...
Renee and Christine...check your messages

So it looks like they planned their party to coincide with a concert date. Don't think our party will happen on a concert date in the New York area but we could alway hope that maybe Mike would meet up with us if he's in Boston, right? I think a contribution to MYF would be cool, too.

Ladies you are doing an amazing job scoping out venues! Thank you so much!
About the deposit: Since the event is more than a year away. We could send our $45 by mail to one of the Incu Fans here. Or open a checking account and have all the money deposited there.
I came across pictures from the Philippines Incubus Street Team's Incu Party. They raised money for the MYF. Here is a picture of their check.

I don't know if they mailed the check to MYF or actually got to present to them. Because the Street Team met the band!!!

This was the caption below the pic:
OUR MOMENT WITH THE BAND
The street team had the privilege to chat and have a photo with Mike, Jose, Ben, Kil and Brandon at the lobby of the Crowne Plaza hotel on March 9, 2008, right before heading to the Araneta Coliseum for the concert.

Hey, I CAN ask one of the school counselors or my school principle if I can throw an Incu-fest in the Cafeteria and the admission is only $1 and the money goes to the MYF.
Since I'm too young to go on a plane by myself, I was think maybe Y'ALL should come down here and y'all can party at my school, AND it will start on November 11th, at 2:45 till 7 PM, AND I can tell someone if they can help me contact the band to at least just make an apperence!!!
How does THAT sound? =)
(AND I EXPECT TO SEE Y'ALL THERE. LOL)

Sorry...I meant it's in the same area as the Speakeasy Room. That's the room I got the info on.

Jackie: Just to let you know, The Havana Room is on the Upper East Side. The Living Room is across town, on the Upper West Side.

oh, and if anyone wants to call for themselves to find out some info (phone number on the site), I talked to Christine. She said to just tell them that you are calling about the party that Jackie Rizzo asked about. She is also calling me after Thanksgiving to see if we have anymore questions or have made a decision. Really nice person and chock full of info.

Luckily we have time to think things through. The Living Room looks great. We just have to find out how many people you need to guarantee. I think it's in the same part of the city as the other room, so that's good. We'll have to brainstorm on the money issue.

my biggest fear will be the rescue of me...
Jackie: Very valid points.....don't how we can get around them.....it' be nice if there was a way to set up some sort of an account where the people interested could deposit their $45 and then when the time comes we could tally up how many people we've got by the amount of money in the account. Is that possible? Don't know.....
Totally willing to check out the venue with you ladies...let me know.

when I drive myself my light is found.....
50 new entrees?!?! how did this happen?? XD
i love the MFY Art Education fund raising idea.
i contacted MYF about a Incubus Jakarta charity night
but their response was blah.. sighs..
i hope you'll get a better reaction than me!
The place looks great, Jackie! I'm with Christine, I like the Living Room best. I would be glad to go and check it out with you guys. Not sure what to do about making sure we don't get stuck with a bill for those who don't show. That really could add up. There has to be a way of nailing down who is really committed to the idea.
Suz-- I love the way you found for us to raise the money for MYF. That is fantastic. (Being a teacher is very cool at times!)
--
I lean against the wind, pretend that I am weightless, and in this moment I am happy...
And there'd NEVER be a way for me to go to NY and expect to pay 45 bucks.. o_o;;
Expensive much?

the place said cash at the door, but there has to be a way around that...

my biggest fear will be the rescue of me...
hmm, good point. i don't know, because there wouldn't be a way for me to even send money cuz i don't have any credit cards or checking accounts..would we be able to talk to the company about sending them the money, that way we know for sure its going straight to them?
and then after the room, we could continue the party @ the hotel! cuz all of us cannot legally drink out in public, and i want to share a drink or two with you ladies/gentleman(men? hah)
--
"i will hold you close if you're afraid of heights"
So basically, if one of us from this site doesn't show up, you have to pay cause they didn't go?!
That's retarded. D|
